[I wrote this poem for a friend when she retired on October 12,2012]
After seventeen years of office toil
The day of decision has finally come
To say farewell to “nine-to-five”
And embrace retirement with peace and freedom
Peg, as you enter this retirement phase
With faith and courage to keep you secured
May you find success in all you do
And friends and family for support
Watching sunbeams dancing on your window pane
May your days be filled with joyful moments
And your cup overflows with heavenly cheer
God will provide your daily needs
With wealth, good health and happiness
You’ll have ample time to do the things
You’ve been waiting so long to do
